Brittany Lutz, spouse of TWILIGHT actor Kellan Lutz, recently shared an original poem aimed at inspiring her followers to reassess their relationship with social media and focus on their authentic selves.
The poem begins, “Scrolling late into the night, / searching for something new. / Telling myself it’s ‘unwinding’ / but I know that isn’t true,” as posted on her Instagram. “Getting lost in others’ stories / that are really just draining me. / Draining my time, energy, and peace, / leaving me feeling empty.”
Lutz’s verses continue, “When will we value ourselves enough to simply log off and rest our eyes? / When will we understand our magnificent minds weren’t designed for this constant barrage?” She adds, “The good news is it’s never too late to establish new limits, / to draw a line in the sand. / It’s time we stop allowing others to define us and dictate our thoughts/actions/purchases, / And confidently declare ‘I AM _____'”
“I am a mother. / I am a daughter. / I am a wife. / I have passions. / I have aspirations. / I have my OWN journey.” Lutz concludes, “While it’s great to follow others / and find inspiration, / remember that those who truly enrich your life never leave you feeling drained.”
Lutz’s poem serves as a powerful reminder that we were created for real-world community and in-person interactions. While social media can be a beneficial tool used for good, it also carries potential drawbacks that can significantly impact us if we’re not mindful.
Instead of dwelling on the negative aspects of social media that have contributed to rising rates of depression, anxiety, and suicide in our society, she encourages us to embrace the positive aspects while avoiding the harmful ones.
Previously, Lutz has motivated her followers to develop a vision and set goals for their lives to promote personal growth rather than stagnation.

Brittany Lutz, wife of TWILIGHT actor Kellan Lutz, emphasized to her followers the importance of having a life vision when following Christ.
She shared a devotional based on John 7:38, which states, “Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”
“The devotional says, ‘When you think about a river, you may think of a stream that leads into a larger body of water like a pond, lake or ocean. All water is not created equal, in fact stagnant water is toxic,'” she began.
“Water needs to flow,” she continued reading. “Jesus uses a river to explain one of the greatest gifts of being a believer in and a carrier of the Spirit of Jesus Christ. He didn’t just say we’d be full of water. No, he specifically decreed that multiple streams of Living Water will flow from within us.”
