“Country Star’s Heartfelt Plea: The Song That’s Making Parents Everywhere Reach for the Tissues”

Country music sensation Luke Bryan recently unveiled his latest album, titled Mind of a Country Boy. One of the closing tracks on the record features a heartfelt song about praying for his children.

The track, named “Jesus, ‘Bout My Kids,” showcases Bryan’s reflections on teaching his children about faith and his ongoing prayers for them.

Here’s an excerpt from the song’s lyrics:

Guide ’em as they go
‘Cause if anyone does, You know
Along the straight and narrow
All the places they could fall

I used to talk to my kids about Jesus
He knew and loved ’em long before I did
I used to talk to my kids about Jesus
Now I talk to Jesus ’bout my kids
I used to talk to my kids about Jesus
Now I talk to Jesus ’bout my kids

Familyguide previously highlighted Bryan’s commitment to faith and family:

Luke Bryan and his spouse, Caroline Boyer, adopted their nieces and nephew following the tragic loss of both parents.

Their nephew, Tilden Cheshire, 21, and nieces, Jordan, 28, and Kris Cheshire, 24, lost their mother, Kelly, in 2007, and their father, Ben, in 2014…

Shortly after Ben’s passing, Bryan and Boyer welcomed the three teenagers into their home…

The couple are also parents to Thomas “Bo” Boyer Bryan, 15, and Tatum “Tate” Christopher Bryan, 13.

Bryan shared, “I’ve seen my family experience ups and downs, questioning God and wondering why this happened. But you keep moving forward, trying to stay positive and appreciate each day. You’ll never fully recover, but you work towards getting to a better place.”

Bryan and Caroline have consistently strived to incorporate faith into their children’s upbringing.

“We make an effort every day to emphasize the importance of Jesus, Christianity, being a good person, and believing in a higher power,” Bryan stated in a 2015 interview with KDHL Radio. “During Christmas, kids can get caught up in Santa Claus, so we try to have meaningful conversations about the true meaning of the season.”

“Becoming a parent brings endless worries about guiding your children through life,” he shared with PEOPLE. “There’s only so much within your control. You have to entrust them to Jesus or your higher power because ultimately, that’s where you need to place your faith – in God and Jesus watching over them.”
