As the release date of her new book approaches, HGTV personality Jenny Marrs is sharing thoughts on a meaningful Bible verse.
“Exodus 10:2 is underlined, starred and highlighted in my Bible,” she mentioned in a recent social media post. “I love my NLT translation: ‘You will be able to tell wonderful stories to your children and grandchildren about the marvelous things I am doing (among the Egyptians) to prove that I am Lord.’”
Marrs added, “This morning, as I read these ancient words, a little over a month before my book — Trust God, Love People — launches into the world, I felt an immense peace.”
“After all, the reason I wrote all of these stories down was for my children to have a record of God’s faithfulness to our family. I wanted them to have a tangible, printed testimony for themselves and for their own kids to read someday,” she explained. “I wanted them to know the details of all the ‘marvelous things’ He has done so that when their facing their own ‘stubborn Pharoah [sic]’ moment, they will be able stand firm on the faithfulness of our trustworthy God.”

Marrs’ upcoming book, Trust God, Love People: Stories of My Openhanded Faith, “invites readers into her life and family’s home to share accounts of how small acts of faith have resulted in a fulfilling and surprising life,” according to Penguin Random House’s website.
“As we, like Jenny, grow in our ability to act on faith and show love to those around us, we can confidently step into adventures we never thought possible,” the synopsis states.
The FIXER TO FABULOUS celebrity recently recounted the reaction of a close friend after reading a preliminary version of the book.
“She told me that, as she read my words, she teared up and felt God’s presence through my stories of His faithfulness,” Marrs shared in an Instagram post. “She referenced my words from chapter 12, saying how deeply they resonated with her in this season: ‘My still-newly-home toddler needed me, and sometimes following God’s lead is not always an adventure — sometimes it’s a sacrificial way of living that allows Him to work amidst very ordinary circumstances.’”
Marrs went on to say, “This is what I prayed for all along. That God would use these stories to breathe life into smoldering embers of faith. Sharing them with the world feels vulnerable and scary but, as October approaches, God keeps reminding me that I did my part and He’ll do His.”
Trust God, Love People: Stories of My Openhanded Faith arrives in bookstores on Oct. 7.
