Gold Medalist’s Secret Weapon: You Won’t Believe What This Olympian Carries Everywhere!

Four-time Olympic gold medalist Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone continues to use her platform to share her faith and inspire others to look to God.

In a recent video for GQ Sports, the track star revealed the 10 items she can’t live without.

Among her favorite things like candy, running shoes, and skincare products, McLaughlin-Levrone highlighted her Bible as the most essential item in her life.

“I’ve been working on memorizing Colossians 1:13-14,” the athlete shared. “It says, ‘He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.'”

McLaughlin-Levrone went on to discuss her love for her MacArthur Study Bible, which provides additional context and explanations to help readers gain a deeper understanding of the scriptures.

“Being able to delve into God’s word wherever I am is such a crucial part of my daily life,” she explained. “My Bible is my lifeline, and I recently got this mini version because it fits in any bag. I’m already starting to mark it up and everything.”

The track sensation made history at the 2024 Paris Olympics by breaking her own 400-meter hurdle world record with a time of 50.37 seconds. She also secured a second gold medal in the women’s 4×400 meter relay.

“It never fails to amaze me how powerful He is in helping those who trust in Him overcome their inner battles,” she wrote on Instagram. “His word is sufficient, His promises are true, and all glory belongs to Him. 🙏🏽🙌🏽❤️ In the end, it’s about so much more than gold.”

Following her historic performance in Paris, McLaughlin-Levrone also expressed gratitude to her support team:

McLaughlin-Levrone also took to Instagram to share how her faith supported her during this challenging time.

“It’s always challenging to prepare for a moment you may never experience again,” she continued. “The phrase ‘Trust in Jesus’ kept repeating in my mind. I didn’t know what the outcome would be, but I knew He was the one I wanted guiding me through this journey. And what an incredible journey it was!

“It never ceases to amaze me how powerful He is in helping those who trust Him overcome their inner struggles,” she added. “His word is sufficient, His promises are true, and all glory belongs to Him.
